LinkLock privacy policy
Northlight Apps ยท Last updated: 26 October 2026
LinkLock is a Shopify app that makes a discount code work only for shoppers who arrive through the code owner's link. This policy explains what information the app handles. In short: LinkLock does not collect, store or sell personal information about shoppers or merchants.
Information the app uses
- Discount settings (merchant). The percentage, link key, optional end date and checkout label you enter are saved in your own Shopify store as discount metafields. They are not copied to our servers.
- Discount list (merchant). The code health check and setup page read your store's discount codes through the Shopify Admin API, in your browser, to show results to you. Nothing is sent to or kept by us.
- Link key (shopper). When a shopper opens a creator's link, the storefront script saves the link key (for example
ali2026) in that shopper's browser for up to 30 days and adds it to the cart as a hidden attribute so the discount can apply. The key identifies the link, not the person. It is not sent to us.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, addresses, payment details, IP-based tracking, cookies for advertising, or browsing history. The app uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
Shopify privacy webhooks
Shopify sends required privacy requests (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) to our server. Because we hold no customer data, we acknowledge them; if we ever store shop-level data, it is deleted when a shop redact request arrives.
Sharing
We do not share, sell or rent any information. Data handled by Shopify is governed by Shopify's privacy policy.
Your rights
Uninstalling LinkLock stops all processing. Discount settings stay in your store until you delete the discounts. You may contact us at any time about this policy.
